The Pure Release TV commercial and Kalvin Klein Campaign is a tribute to the iconic Calvin Klein campaigns of the 90s. This prestigious project, in collaboration with Zalando, features the famous singer LOMIJOH and superstar model Lucky Blue Smith. Directed by the renowned Roberto Colombo, with stills captured by Lea Colombo, the commercial embodies timeless elegance and modern sensibility.Movement Director Marie Zechiel played an essential role in this project. Her expertise was crucial in guiding the talents, both of whom are more accustomed to still poses than dynamic movement. Working closely with the director and models, Maries task was to help them step out of their comfort zones. For models like Lucky Blue Smith, who are used to posing, moving fluidly in front of the camera can be challenging. Marie’s role was to ease this transition, ensuring that every movement appeared natural and confident.
With LOMIJOH, Marie focused on blending the singers inherent musicality with the visual narrative. Her direction helped LOMIJOH express the emotional depth of the campaign through movement. This approach allowed the singer to connect more deeply with the audience, bringing a powerful presence to the screen.Maries work was not just about movement but about creating a seamless connection between the models and the camera. She worked meticulously to ensure that each movement aligned with the aesthetic vision of the campaign. Her guidance helped the talents embody the minimalistic and bold spirit of the 90s while introducing a modern twist.Marie Zechiels role in Pure Release went beyond traditional movement direction. She acted as a bridge between the director’s vision and the talents’ performances. Her ability to coax dynamic movement from models who typically rely on stillness was key to the commercials success. The result is a visually stunning and emotionally resonant piece that captures the essence of Calvin Kleins timeless appeal.
