DUNST is the latest performance work by Berlin-based artistic duo Marie Zechiel and Elodie Carstensen, premiered at the LOST Art Festival 2025. Performed with twelve dancers beneath Guillaume Cousin’s monumental smoke-ring installation, the piece transforms industrial space into a breathing environment where body, space, and atmosphere converge.
A Premiere at LOST Art Festival 2025
The premiere of DUNST took place at the Kolbenhütte on the Helion Stage during the LOST Art Festival, an event that attracted thousands of visitors over three days.
Presented three times, DUNST quickly became one of the festival’s most atmospheric highlights.

“Berlin’s avant-garde artistic scene is forever enriched by the mesmerising performance work, DUNST, crafted by the dynamic duo Marie Zechiel and Elodie Carstensen.”– KALTBLUT Magazine |
Choreography as an Endless Loop
In DUNST, dancers repeat looping movement patterns that overlap and echo until the choreography builds toward an unsense choreography. The result is a striking finale where order dissolves into ecstatic release.
Supported by a powerful sound composition from Andre Moghimi, the performance merged rhythm and atmosphere, turning the Kolbenhütte into an immersive, almost otherworldly experience.

„The performance is a call for patience, a request to linger in the space between movement and stillness, where the anticipation builds to a breathtaking climax.“

Installation & Atmosphere
The choreography unfolds beneath Guillaume Cousin’s monumental smoke-ring installation, which fills the industrial hall with recurring rings of air.
Together, the performers, sound, and installation create a holistic environment where choreography, design, and performance intertwine.
